Throughout the world the popularity of basketball, particularly the women and girls game, is at an all time high level.
This same popularity extends into 2007/2008 program of Lubbock Girls Basketball.
With approximately 310 girls playing on 36 teams in 2008, LGB is one of the largest and most highly regarded youth sports on the South Plains.
Our success is due in great part to the tremendous support we receive from the local community. To the volunteer coaches and Board members, the sponsors, referees, Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, Lubbock Public Schools, City of Lubbock,
surrounding communities in Lubbock County and especially the players and their parents, goes our most sincere gratitude. We appreciate your continued assistance in the achievement of the goal of LGB, which is to promote the sport of basketball and the related qualities of sportsmanship, teamwork, and self-discipline, while providing an active and enjoyable experience of each girl in the program.
The LGB Board of Directors welcomes you to the exciting 2008 season. Should you have any suggestions for improvement of our program of our service to the girls, please let us know. Furthermore, your active participation is invited at the Annual General Meeting on
April 8 at 7:00PM, Home Plate Diner at 82nd Street and Slide Road. We hope to see you there!
